- Aerial
DURO · 14 September 2025
About the project
A night aerial of DURO's stage, its three towers lit with the town lights behind, shot on 14 September 2025. It shows the installation and the place it stands in at once, a relationship you cannot tell from the ground: at night, with no natural light to give context, only from the air can you tell where the site ends and the town begins.
It was shot directly on a native vertical master, at 2160×3840, with social media in mind from the start, instead of cropping a horizontal shot afterwards: the difference isn't only in the final format, but in how the shot is composed during the flight. A horizontal shot cropped to vertical loses information at the sides; one filmed already vertical is composed with that frame in mind from the first second, so the stage's three towers and the town lights fall naturally on the same axis, without sacrificing either.
It's the second piece from DURO's coverage alongside the pyro show and the site at capacity: where that one focuses on the moment of the show, this one stays with the installation and its surroundings, the view that gives context to the rest of the coverage.
