DURO · 9 November 2025
About the project
DURO's site at capacity, seen from the air, with the stage on one side and the mountain behind, shot on 9 November 2025. It is the kind of shot every organiser of a venue with capacity needs: an image that proves the turnout at a glance, without relying on a number someone has to defend afterwards.
The challenge of a shot like this isn't just framing the whole site: it's finding the height and angle where the stage, the mountain and the crowd all fit in the same image without any of the three taking over from the other two. Too high, and the crowd turns into a shapeless smudge; too low, and the mountain that gives the site its geographic context is lost. The middle point is what makes the image read as one scene rather than three stacked elements.
It's shot open-matte —a 4:3 master at 3840×2880— so the horizontal and vertical versions can be delivered from the same flight, without having to fly it again or lose quality cropping. That's a format decision made before take-off, not at the editing desk.
It's the third piece from the same DURO coverage, alongside the pyro show and the site at night: three shots that, together, tell the event's scale at three different moments. No ground shot can replace this one: no camera on the ground ever sees the whole site at once, and it's exactly that full view that turns this kind of shot into communication material, both for anyone who missed it and for anyone who has to convince a sponsor to come back for the next edition.
