About the project

Aerial series of Madrid shot at sunset, with the skyline and Torrespaña cut out against the sky. It's one of eight postcards of the city shot over two evenings in May 2026, each shot exactly eleven seconds long: the length was decided in advance as part of the series' own format, not trimmed to that afterwards.

Torrespaña, by its shape and height, works as a scale reference against the rest of the skyline —it's the kind of landmark a Madrid local recognises instantly, and the one that places the shot geographically for anyone who doesn't know the city. Finding the angle where the tower cuts cleanly against the sky, with no other building interrupting the silhouette, is part of the preparation before flying, not something solved in the air on the spot.

It's stock footage: city shots ready to use in corporate pieces, advertising or social content, not tied to a client or a one-off job. Having them shot calmly, spread across two evenings so the best light from each could be chosen without the pressure of getting everything in one session, is what sets them apart from a city shot rushed out the day someone needs it: Madrid sunset light changes within minutes, and it can't be asked to wait for a gap in someone's schedule.
