About the project
Madrid's four towers cut out against the mountains, the sky still orange. It's the second of eight aerial postcards of the city shot that same evening of 17 May 2026, part of a series meant to cover several recognisable points of Madrid in a single flying session, making the most of the same light window.
The challenge with a series like this is timing: the sunset light that gives that particular orange lasts only a few minutes, so the order of the shots is decided in advance —which tower, from what angle, at what exact moment as the sun drops— so none of the eight is lost by arriving late at the next point. Shooting against the mountains, rather than against Madrid itself, is what lets the orange sky read cleanly behind the towers, without the city's own light pollution behind it.
They're stock shots, not a specific client's commission: city footage already crafted, with light chosen rather than dictated by a project's urgency, available to brands, agencies and production companies before anyone needs it in a hurry. It's exactly the kind of shot a same-day improvised shoot can't match — the sunset window doesn't repeat, and whoever doesn't already have it filmed loses it.
