About the project
Advertising piece for MITT MOTORS, shot on mountain roads combining drone and ground camera. The bike is the star, and the landscape —curves, changes in elevation, the road disappearing between mountains— is there to give it scale and context: a tight shot doesn't carry the sense of speed the way an aerial shot following the full line of a curve does.
The challenge of filming a moving vehicle on a road isn't just tracking it: it's anticipating where it will be and having the drone already positioned before it arrives, because a motorbike never takes the same line twice in exactly the same way. That means knowing the route in advance and planning each shot around the light and the time of day, not improvising on the spot.
Everything was shot in a single day: eleven different shots, on 16 July 2026. We filmed all of them open-matte 4:3, the same decision made on any advertising piece at the studio, so the piece could be delivered in horizontal and vertical without losing the good shots when reframing — the agency gets both versions of the same flight, not one cropped from the other.
Combining drone and ground camera on the same shoot day means coordinating two crews around the same lighting plan: while the drone covers the wide shots of road and landscape, the ground camera handles the details of the bike an aerial shot can't resolve —the engine, the hands on the handlebars, the tyre meeting the tarmac. It's the combination any product advertising piece needs: the scale of the drone and the detail from the ground, in the same day's work.
